Tutor Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 1st September 2025
1. Eligibility
To be eligible to provide tutoring services through OwlPath Academy ("Academy"), you must:
- Be at least 18 years old;
- Possess the qualifications and expertise relevant to the subjects you intend to teach;
- Pass our screening, verification, and onboarding processes;
- Comply with all applicable UK laws, including data protection and educational standards.
2. Tutor Responsibilities
As a Tutor, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information during registration and keep it up to date;
- Prepare and deliver high-quality tutoring sessions as scheduled;
- Maintain professionalism and respectful communication with students, parents, and staff;
- Refrain from promoting personal services or soliciting students for private tutoring outside the Academy;
- Use only the official platforms, tools, and resources provided or approved by the Academy;
- Notify the Academy at least 7 days in advance of any changes in availability or inability to attend scheduled sessions.
3. Code of Conduct
Tutors must:
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment;
- Avoid inappropriate behaviour, language, or content;
- Not engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, or exploitation;
- Report any misconduct or concerns immediately to the Academy.
4. Payment and Compensation
- Tutors will be compensated monthly via bank transfer based on the agreed-upon rate.
- Payment is subject to successful completion of sessions and verification of student attendance.
- If a student fails to attend a session, the tutor will still be paid for that session.
- Any cancellations or rescheduling must be notified at least 7 days in advance to be eligible for full payment.
5. Session Policies
- Tutors must start and end sessions on time.
- If a student fails to attend, tutors are required to wait for at least 15 minutes and notify the Academy.
- Tutors may not record sessions or share any student-related content without explicit written permission.
6. Intellectual Property
- All teaching materials developed by Tutors remain the intellectual property of the Tutor unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- The Academy does not record sessions or use tutor-created materials without consent.
7. Confidentiality
Tutors must:
- Keep all student and Academy information confidential;
- Not share any personal data, academic results, or contact details of students outside the platform;
- Comply with applicable UK data protection laws (e.g., GDPR).
8. Termination
- Either party may terminate this agreement with 14 days' written notice.
- The Academy may suspend or terminate a Tutor's access immediately in cases of misconduct, breach of these Terms, or performance issues.
9. Liability and Indemnity
- Tutors are responsible for their conduct and performance.
- The Academy is not liable for any claims arising from the tutor's actions, negligence, or breach of law.
- Tutors agree to indemnify and hold the Academy harmless from any losses, damages, or claims resulting from their services.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of our platform and services after changes constitute your acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.
12. Agreement
By commencing work, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions.
